Workshop
Description
Join Josh Portillo for this free voice-over workshop. Participants will explore three key elements that bring a character to life: Actions, Environment, and Consistency. These vital aspects can turn a standard performance into an immersive experience for the listener.
This is limited to 12 participants and will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Actions Within a Line: Every line in a script has an implied action—whether it's running, whispering, laughing, or contemplating. You’ll learn how these unspoken actions should guide your vocal delivery, ensuring your performance is dynamic, engaging, and believable.
Environment Awareness: The environment shapes how a character speaks. Whether your character is in an echoing hall, a cozy room, or a tense battlefield, your voice should reflect the physical and emotional surroundings. We'll explore how to adjust your tone, pitch, and pacing to match the environment and enhance character relationships.
Consistent Voice Print: A character’s unique voice print—tone, pitch, rhythm, and energy—must remain consistent across multiple recordings. we'll work on maintaining a steady character voice, ensuring a seamless and professional performance that keeps the audience immersed without breaking the illusion.
